Title: Blubber Author: Judy Blume Description: An overweight girl does a report on whales and in turn gets the nickname blubber. One of the students feels bad about it what doesn’t know what to do and joins in on the bullying.
Situations: The bullying that occurs and the fact that the bullies are never punished. Public Opinion: It is a good book that teaches students about bullying and how to overcome it especially being on the outside looking in. She teaches a good lesson while adding humor.
Censorship: Although it has not been banned parents have challenged the book in the schools and libraries to be read.
Appropriate Age: 4th and 5th graders.
